Guided by our experienced Leaders, participants joining any of the 50 Stages of The Big Smile will not have to worry about map reading or directions and will be able to concentrate on having a wonderful, sociable day out and enjoy the good company and iconic views.

In 2021 The Big Smile is scheduled to start with a Stage at Raby Castle and Estate, and it will finish at Durham Castle and Cathedral.

It promises to be an incredible and diverse journey, combining local history and landmark buildings with magnificent landscapes.

The Big Smile will deliberately be relatively small and Covid-secure in 2021 but it will be much larger in for future years and is set to become a spectacular highlight of County Durham’s rich cultural annual calendar.
